This photo essay was published on a blog called “Tales of Wander” by a clothing and gear company called HAVAIII Co. Venturing out to Rainier National Park meant hopping on a 6-hour flight from New York, and then embarking on a 5-hour round trip drive from Tacoma. This may seem a bit much for a day-hike, but to me, it was entirely worth it.
"Willpower, Fear & Fortitude" is about recognizing the necessity of transformation and the willingness to undergo a change, in order to attain a goal that is currently out-of-reach.

Beyond The Self" is a juxtaposition of two themes; understanding the things that makes me "tick", ie: causes, rituals, etc, and becoming more present in the world.
“Welcome Back”is a re-awakening as an artist and a human being. These pages, filled with illustrations, musings and poems is meant to evoke a spiritual arousal; a sense of openness to what we usually shelter our minds and bodies from.
Recession and depression described much of the country in 2010. Jobs were limited for many, and they were especially hard to find for artists. Rather than submit entirely to the riptide of the times, my second journal provided the creative outlet I needed to stay sharp.
