Most of my commercial jobs start with walking into a local shop and a conversation. The conversation I had with Hatchet was about hiking spots in New York - the Adirondacks, in particular. One of the most fulfilling hikes New York State has to offer is the Great Range Traverse, located in the Adirondack High Peaks Wilderness near Keene. Not only are the views breathtaking, they are well-earned, as the terrain is rugged and especially tough to slog through after winter sets in. Having completed the traverse a few times, I was familiar with the route, as well as its natural features. I pitched the idea of a collaboration and several weeks later, the design was approved and sent into production. The end result is pictured above, and I can't wait to drink from it while perched on the summit of Mt. Marcy.

This is the original design with the sky and background in full color. Unfortunately, the manufacturer could only print with a limited color palette, but the clear Nalgene water bottle looks great nonetheless!
